20. Gothic Door
per person
Currently there is another access opening to the church of the Monastery. It was built during the 14th Century to substitute the wall where the sarcophagus were, tracing thus a large gateway at the end of the huge transept.
This door could have been the main door and it led to the cemetery.
We can see three archivolts with pointed arches, which rested over capitals. On these capitals we can see details chiselled on the stone with vegetable motifs and with dramatized decoration.
The symbology or interpretation of the chiselled images on each side of the door is unknown, although one could deduce that it is about the twelve Apostles on each side, or the 24 elders of the Book of Revelation.
