La Pobla de Lillet is a municipality fully commited to the development of sustainable tourism, opting for a responsible and environmentally sustainable model, taking care of the natural environment around us.
The Tourist Office of La Pobla de Lillet works hard to continue to improve and consolidate the municipality as a tourist destination committed to sustainability, through a responsible management of tourism and a cross-cutting strategy with the aim of ensuring an enduring model in the futur.
For this reason, the Tourist Office in La Pobla de Lillet and Jardins Artigas obtained Biosphere Responsible Tourism certification, an internationally recognised label that certifies the good practices required by Responsible Tourism System.
Following the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations, Biosphere certification provides its members: advice on guidelines, workshops, training and a personalised service in order to carry out the actions and good practices required by the commitment.
The main requirements and practices considered are:
- Company improvement plans
- Landscape protection
- Electricity and water control and management
- Control and management of consumption of goods and services
- Waste control and management
- Management of noise pollution
- Emission control and management
Through these actions, the quality and safety of the services offered to visitors are guaranteed.
And moreover, the municipality of La Pobla de Lillet has a service of separate waste collection with the “door-to-door” system, that guarantees improvement in collection results as well as better recycling rates.
The implementation and good practice of this “door-to-door” collection system is everyone’s business, because to separate is to protect the environment, to think about preserving our natural environment, the economic ressources and the tourist charm of our region.
