Jardins Artigas: Nature, Water and Architecture
As Eusebi Güell’s chalet was still being built at the Clot del Moro industrial colony, Antoni Gaudí stayed with the Artigas family, owners of an important textile factory located beside the Llobregat River, who welcomed him during his stay in La Pobla de Lillet.
As a gesture of gratitude for their hospitality, Gaudí gave them a unique place: the Jardins Artigas.
Here, architecture does not try to dominate nature, but rather to become part of it.
Stone, water, vegetation and pathways come together to create a landscape where every element seems to emerge from its natural surroundings.
The Jardins Artigas show how Gaudí observed nature and transformed it into inspiration.
A place where human craftsmanship and the power of the landscape continue to interact more than a century later.
