A corner for train lovers
The old Carrilet station in La Pobla de Lillet hosts the exhibition of mobile material. This is where the route of the Tren del Ciment begins, it is the old station, known as “siding” or “junction”.
This exhibition, owned by Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya, shows all types of secondary, industrial and tourist railways in the Llobregat Valley.
Among others, you can admire a steam locomotive used for the transport of passengers and goods, different diesel and electric locomotives used in mining for the extraction of salt and coal and even a real car of the Montserrat Rack, intended for transporting personalities and used by King Alfonso XII in 1904 to reach the Sanctuary.
Different wagons are also shown, intended for such peculiar uses as transporting explosives into mines or transporting miners’ food between the village and the mines.
