Gombrèn
Gombrèn is a municipality located in Ripollès region, known to be a land of legends and traditions, focus of Comte Arnau legend.
The village is located 900 metres high and borders municipalities from the north-west of Berguedà’s region.
Gombrèn is a municipality mainly rural, with several points of attraction to visit.
Mataplana Castle
Declared cultural place of national interest. Remains of the castle and the attached house where the lords lived have been discovered here. But traditionally this discover is closely linked to the different versions that make up the legend of Comte Arnau.
Comte Arnau Museum
Famous everywhere, as his legend was born in this region. Here you will find different archeological aspects, as well as literary, mythological and historic references related with Mataplana family.
Botanical garden of medicinal plants
This is the first botanical garden of medicinal plants in our country. It shows 250 plants, the majority of them indigenous to the village. The purpose of this place is to make known the variety of plants of the region.
