The origin of the name of this street comes from the role that this space had in the Middle Ages: to be a private vegetable garden or orchard for the barony of the Mataplana.
It is in this street too where the configuration of some houses, tall and very narrow, reminds us of old times. In the past, on the ground floor there was the cellar, the stable and the workshop (in some cases); on the top floors there were the kitchen and bedrooms.
