One day in Vall de Lillet

This route starts at the train station of La Pobla de Lillet.

After visiting the train exhibition located at the same station, we will start a trip to the industrial past of the region with the Tren del Ciment.

Our first stop will be at Jardins Artigas, a work of Antoni Gaudí designed at the beginning of the 20th century, in gratitude to Artigas family for the hospitality recived during the architect stay in la Pobla, while he designed the Xalet del Catllaràs. Jardins Artigas merge nature and architecture in perfect harmony.

After visiting Jardins Artigas we will continue our train trip to Museu del Ciment where we will discover the origins of Asland factory and its importance for local economy.

During the entire tour Llobregat river will accompany us, the source of life and energy for all the textile factories that existed in the area in the recent past.

After an intense morning it is time to eat and nothing better than to taste our local products elaborated in the traditional way, from the recipes  passed on from generation to generation. That’s why we will stop at La Pobla Centre and we will lead to the old village centre. Walking through its streets we will relive the magic of the time when  Mataplana family lived in the Castle.
Inside the parish church we can admire the Christ in Majesty, a big polychrome wood carving that dates back from the 12th century. To end the visit of the historical centre, we recommend you to enjoy a good meal in a local restaurant.

When we finish our train trip there is still time enough to discover the beautiful places of the municipality. One of them is located in front of the train station, the Catllaràs mountain range, an espace where you can enjoy nature in its fullness.

Leaving in the direction of Guardiola you will find the detour to the Sanctuary of Virgin of Falgars, an image carved in alabaster,  from the 15th century. From the viewpoint Joan Casanova, you will be able to enjoy a stunning view of the valley with Pedraforca mountain at the back.
